Water By My Bed (2019)
As a means of exploring Mohawk identity today, I chose to photograph scenes in Kahnawake, a Mohawk reservation just outside of Montreal, where I was born and raised and I figured I could show a unique perspective.
This was my second published work, and though the emphasis was primarily on photography, the piece was intertwined with poetry. I believe the writing was instrumental in putting the reader/viewer in the proper frame of mind for viewing the honesty depicted in the photos. Our history can be a dark one and despite all the beauty that there is, and all that there can be, there are still many demons to exorcise, both proverbially and literally.
Otherwise Unshared (2018)
'Otherwise Unshared' was my first collection of writing. It's divided between short stories in the first section and poems in the second section, both of which are accompanied by photographs. The themes cover a wide array of emotions, though the common thread seems to be the understanding that we, as humans, are so very small. Vulnerability is hugely important to my practice and I think it's on full display in this format.

As an exploration, I think it was successful, though in hindsight I'd like to build off of it in terms of type design as it was my first time diving into any real print media. I think it has the potential to be retouched and turned into a properly distributed book.
